In honor of National Margarita Day on February 22, the Joia Beach bar team is sharing its recipe for one of its most popular cocktails. While a classic margarita is made of tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice in a salt rimmed glass, we’ve upgraded the classic by switching out sweet orange liqueur with a delicious smoky substitute. Our twist on the classic margarita, marries premium Cazadores Reposado Tequila with smoky Ancho Reyes for a wonderfully addictive taste of Pure Joia.
Pure Joia Cocktail
1.5 oz Cazadores Reposado Tequila
1 oz Ancho Reyes
¾ oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
1 oz Pineapple Syrup
Tajin for rim
Grilled fresh pineapple for garnish
Mix 1.5 oz Cazadores Reposado Tequila, 1 oz of Ancho Reyes Chile Ancho Reyes, and ¾ oz of fresh squeezed lime juice, and 1 ounce of pineapple syrup in a shaker. Shake vigorously then strain and pour over rocks glass with ice. Float the top of the drink with Mezcal and top with grilled pineapple for garnish. Enjoy!
